Dalai Lama mediatingHow do you look for a teacher if you don’t know what it is you are supposed to learn? So many times we think we know what direction it is we are supposed to travel. Based on these ideas/conceptions, we make our decisions. Sometimes we seek out advice and other times we take what’s handed to us. How do we know that what are told is not rubbish? How can we be certain that those who would present themselves as our teachers are not in fact playing a very serious game, by telling you what you want to hear as opposed to what you need to hear?

The fact is we don’t always know what is best for us. It also holds true that others may not know what’s best for us. What we are left with is a lot of uncertainty. If we could just trust that if we follow what we feel deep inside, it will lead us to where we need to be. Then maybe, just maybe, things will be okay. After all, the choice to be happy is ours. The choice to seek out more than there really is also ours. So what are you going to tell yourself today?

Guidance comes from within and from without.
