It is strange sometimes for those with the compulsion to almost completely destroy oneself before pulling themselves out of the ashes to find who they are again. Why is there this impulse for destruction, for lack of care? What drives us to madness and then back again? It is so easy to lose all scope of what really matters in this life and often much more difficult to regain it. It’s as if a switch is flipped and suddenly we are reminded of how far our wants and the temptations of this world can lead us. Here’s a dose of the madness and chaos you can have, or here’s a sample of the peace and tranquility you know can exist. Somewhere in the throes of desperation, we grasp for straws, we grasp for anything and everything. In those moments, if we could just realize we’re not really drowning, that the problems we perceive really are not as big as we think them to be, we can stand again on our own two feet.
