I’ll Trade You

Is a sacrifice a sacrifice if what you give up you cannot take with you. Is a sacrifice a sacrifice if what you give up is not yours to keep. Is a sacrifice a sacrifice if what you give up is meant for another. Is there loss, or is there a reminder of what is most important. Is there loss, or is there temporary safe-keeping. Is there loss, or is there understanding. Comfort is a luxury some cannot afford, yet some take for granted. A roof over one’s head is a luxury some cannot do without, yet some take for granted. A full belly is a luxury of indulgence, yet some take for granted. You say you can cutback, but only if it doesn’t dig into your lifestyle. You say you can give, but only if you can get a receipt. You say you care, but only so much. Reminders only last so long until we forget.
