Remember that there are no secrets in this world, or the next. All that is hidden is revealed and all that is buried is uncovered. There is no difference between what is spoken from one’s lips versus what is hidden in the recesses of one’s mind. It is all known to everyone at every instant. What you chose to hear is what your mind chooses to accept.
We cannot expect anything of anyone, for they are who they are. We cannot control anyone’s thoughts nor anyone’s actions. We all have freewill and we are all made as we are. And so it is your choice to try and make someone into who you think they should be, or rather accept them as who they are. It is our expectations that fail us and nothing more. Allow your mind to see past what it thinks it knows.
